Class Description:

Learn the essential building blocks of flamenco dance at a slow, easy pace. We will work on the fundamentals of flamenco footwork, arms and hands, simple marking steps, vocabulary, structure, rhythms and palmas. A great class for all looking to start or enhance their flamenco journey! Beginners welcome. No experience needed.

Class Description:

We will learn to dance a fandangos with castanets. Students who wish to perform a letra of our fandangos in the Oct 6th FLOR celebration at Mayo Street Arts is invited to do so. Extra castanets are available in the studio. Please inquire if you need a pair.

Wednesdays | September 4 - Oct 23 (8 weeks), PLUS rehearsal Oct 5th from 10 am - 12 pm for those performing in the Oct 6th celebration.

Class Description:

For advanced students who have studied flamenco technique for several years and can learn at an advanced pace. This class will focus on learning a Tientos. Those who wish to perform a letra of Tientos in the FLOR celebration on Oct 6th at Mayo Street Arts are invited to do so.

October 5th rehearsal with guitarists in preparation for the October 6th celebration at Mayo Street Arts.

By registering for the Oct 5th rehearsal, I commit to the Oct 6th performance for the FLOR launch celebration. In doing so, I commit to:

• Attend all classes in the fall series in preparation for the Oct 6th FLOR launch celebration at Mayo Street Arts.

• If I am sick or  injured, I am excused from attending class, but am responsible for learning missed material.

• Attend the Oct 5th rehearsal with guitarists, at 27 Emily St. Topsham, ME, from 10 am - 12 pm.

• Arrive at Mayo Street Arts by 2 pm on October 6th for load-in and sound check. The celebration runs from 4-7 pm.

• Prepare and practice my performance piece(s) each week leading up to the performance and be prepared to perform on Oct 6th.

• Rehearsal Fee: $20 | All sales are final. No refunds.
